Bloomberg retaliates and gets the Hype Award in the process

It is true that Sober Look has not always been kind to Bloomberg reporters. Using their near-monopoly status in the financial media, Bloomberg editors have taken "liberties" that have rarely been scrutinized as we have done here at Sober Look (for example here and here). In response, Bloomberg has threatened legal action for our use of Bloomberg charts.
Dear Sober Look - My name is Jennifer Sullivan and I am head of Content Syndication at Bloomberg LP. It has been brought to my attention that your site uses Bloomberg screen captures, which is a violation of copyright rules. As such, I need to ask you to cease and desist from using screens or data taken from Bloomberg, immediately. Should this usage persist, I will escalate to my legal department for follow up.

Congratulations, Bloomberg. It's been a while since our last media Hype Award, but it's time. For using your financial data monopoly status to suppress freedom of information, today you get the long-awaited award.
